Pompeii
Pompeii is the most famous and most visited archaeological site in the world, it was founded around the eighth century BC by Osci. On 24 August 79 AD, with a cataclysmic eruption of the Vesuvius, Pompeii was totally wiped out together with Herculaneum, Stabia and Oplontis. There was no escape for anyone and most of Pompeii was only a surface lava often high up to three meters, which cemented the inhabitants and destroyed all manner of life. From this great tragedy, the famous ruins of Pompeii was born. Today one can visit the ancient Roman city destroyed tragically in 79, brought up to light.
